いろいろな仕事が積み重なって、あちこちを右往左往している時、
不意に七飯の店を６年前に自国に戻った『テリー』が訪ねてくれた。
電話でのお話しぶりで、
お元気なのは分かったが、
自宅に戻ることもできず、
逢うことは叶わなかった。
もう、還暦から１０年以上は経つのではあるまいか・・・・・
お元気だ。
こなひき小屋の現役時代から、元気溌剌・唯我独尊・・・・・・・
といった風の貫禄はあったが、
・・・・・・やっぱり、齢の貫禄も着実につけたのだ。と察する。
が、当時から成長したスタッフ達には、
姉御肌はそのままの、心優しき変わらぬ『テリー』だったようだ。
時の経つのはいつの間にやら、気が付くとあらゆる事が既に過ぎ去ってしまっている。
カメラを構える田代監督は『新得空想の森映画祭』から生まれた映画監督だ。
ドキュメントの世界に魅せられて、『闇を掘る』で助監督を勤めた。
監督として『新得共同学舎』で二つの家族の何年かを撮り続け、
見事に映画に仕上げて、現在、高き評価を得ている。
『はる小屋』という、姉妹のような名前が付いた山麓にある大きな小舎で、
酒を飲みつつ、監督の作品『空想の森』の映写会をした。
何年か前の、うら若く何かを目指す知り合い達の姿が映し出され、
衝撃も無く、未知もない、淡々と流れるまっとうな生活を描いたドキュメントの素晴らしさを味わった。
時は経て人は変わる。
知識を身につけ、知恵を得る。老いてさらに知り、寡黙にもなる。
熟成してゆく人々の姿と、映像の中の変わらぬ若き姿の奇妙なギャップ。
その時を知りつつ見つめたスクリーンの中で、
必死になって考え、悩み、心から楽しんでいる人の姿は美しいものだった。
きっと今もそうなのだ。

私の母はまだ元気で、今年８０歳になります。
父は他界しましたが、その際には恒もきてくれました。
